LIFE LONG QUEST FOR KNOWLEDGE

Volunteer Opportunities in District 49

WatchDOGS As we work through innovation to improve our opportunities, we are also striving to build stronger relationships in our community. There are many ways you can get involved in your schools.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, complete the online application, and then visit the human resources department located at 10850 E. Woodmen Road in Peyton. Please include a personal email address in your application, so we can inform you immediately after your application is approved.

At our human resources department, you'll complete a fingerprint-based background check, submit a valid identification and pay the $20 processing fee. All personal data and background check information remains confidential. As part of standard school safety practices, all volunteers and visitors to District 49 schools must provide a photo ID each time they visit any district facility.

If you'd like a visual representation of this process, download the District 49 volunteer induction workflow document (PDF, 72KB).

  • Rush In Joy With Santa’s Toy Express

Santa's Toy Express focuses on on forming 49 exceptional experiences, mostly for children 4 to 8 years old, recommended from the district’s elementary schools in northeast Colorado Springs and the Falcon area of El Paso County. After receiving a warm breakfast, children board buses with sponsors and travel a mile east to Wal-Mart with gift cards. Many join Santa Claus in singing Christmas carols along the way.
